MSRC orders $1.3 million oil spill detection system from Rutter

St. John’s, NL, Canada: Canadian based Rutter Technologies, a division of Rutter Inc. (TSX: RUT), has entered into an agreement MSRC to provide its Oil Spill Detection and Management Systems for deployment in the U.S.  Delivery will begin immediately, and is anticipated to be completed in April 2011.  Rutter sold the first Oil Spill Detection and Management system in November 2010.
Rutter President and CEO, Fraser Edison, says “this purchase by Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC) is intended to enhance offshore skimming capabilities during night time operations as well as during times of decreased visibility.” Edison says “the majority of these units will be deployed on boats and barges operating in the Gulf of Mexico.”

Rutter’s Oil Spill Detection and Management Systems are currently in operation on vessels operating in Brazil, Norway, Egypt and the United States. The Sigma S6 radar technology provides operators with real-time information about the volume and thickest areas of an oil slick in order to maximize recovery efforts.
